bilsum and corlis

 bilsum and corlis were firned of mine in university. i did a BFA and then a minor in philosophy. MA and M.MUS at Brown. bilsum was president of the univerist and corlis a fellow student in my later mastercs classes. These two lovebirds were sleeping together - it was a very differnet time at that period. Bilsum was a younger premident and corlis a mature student. The staff were aware and no one thought worse of anyone for it, besides bilsum, who was later fired for the relationsip. When I look back now, I agree with his firing, but at the time we were outraged - he was the first to bring movies back to the Avon Cinema building after the budget cuts of the previous university cycle, and students admired him fiercly. 

Bilsum would host the most lovely dinner parties, and he and corlis would spend all day cooking, borrowing some of the cafeteria staff for prep work. Dressed in our finest, our hair combed out as was the fashion of the era, we would titter nervously as we were excorted into the hallowed halls of bilsums manor. Intimate, yet stately. I found that the champagne served would ease our jitters, and after a few sips we would be roaring at the demure jokes of corlis, who had a skill for making even the dullest of the party burst out in fits of laughter. 

Once the fire had turned to embers, the party would devolve to more base conversation - truth and dares, what is your favourite position... Corlis would exclaim 'the president will not use a rubber with me'. Now this was the time when birth control was beginning to be normalized. we had all either knocked up or been knocked up, and no one thought any worse of anyone else for this, it was just a normal part of life - but I had noticed, many seemed to be incorporating these little latex circles in their bedroom play. At these parties, Bilsum remained silent, using Corlis as his mouthpiece, which we didn't find strange, although retrospectively, something is a little weird about it. Corlis would recite a speech by memory detailing just how sinister the rubber truly was. I will write what I remember him bellowing below:

'Fellows, as we gather, a pernicious force also gathers at the edge of our doorframes. The disgusting german company 'Fromm' has been gradually undermining our sexual democracy with the invention and marketing of what many know as the 'CONDOM'.

This acronym left us speechless always, and for me was the impetus to exploring a more chemically and spiritually synchronous relationship with sexuality and 'protection'. This personal story was important in my development as a young adult. Corlis was later arrested for indecent exposure to be able to rejoin Bilsum in prison.

I write about the incompatibility of governmental fiscal austerity and widespread population fertility. Family planning makes it so that not many such individuals seek to procreate, bring forth children within the concurrent political confines of this society.. a policy of fiscal austerity deinies the inherent value of social institutions that allow for children to propser in this world .. piano lessons, public swimming, healthcare and afterschool preschool programs for children. When funding is cut, corporations move in with their taloned claws, swooping like a bird of prey 'hello everyone, let's not have children.. oh here's how.. wrap it up in a rubber, wrap it with latex and deny yourself a human delicacy and naturalistic spiritual sex with lust and love and more.. you can't afford a child- - - here is a way around it, you will never have a child because you are too stupiid to know that fluid bonding can not occur with a c***ndom,, we will now police your actions and behavoiurs .. and you will be thankful and buy our silicon lubricant to compensate for everyones lack of arousal with a condom 😷😸😷😅😅😂' 

we are not stupid. . We know what that means.. no more can you do this. there is a very effective way of preventing birth and pregnancy.. cycle tracking, pulling out and common fucking sense and intuition. dosn't mean we can't ever make love properly and normal right?? 

When you cut program funding, you are not going to understand the ridiculous consequences if you are driven by purely 'scientific' economic principals. I believe in humanisitic economic principles. Make it easy for people to have children meaningfully if they want them.. i am not joking of course, social programs are everything to me. I use public pools weekly and yes, filled with beautiful families in the earlier slot. There is only a 1% chance of having a cild with a condom.. tell that to families that want a child and see how they react.. they do NOT want one.. so let's all work together, and stay humble, and thius can still come together.

this christmas: indulge

 maybe you think that you know soething about me now, I say 'christmas - indulge'. Chrsitmas is less of a christian holiday now i think, with companies like coca cola and black rock involved.. more of an everyman holiday, santa is the GOAT. i don't think the spirit of the season is made up, it's something quasi-religious almost, infectious; santasmic beliefs. Here is another fact: you don't need to be afraid this christmas. You don't need to worry that you aren't good enough, that you will never be better. Santa has taken care of that too, he provides. I'm saying this in jest, i am joking. Santa isn't real, but a sensitiivity pervades nonetheless, i care more for my neighbours at this time of year, not because someone tells me too, but because innately I understand that winter is a time for consolidation and solidarity. Cold winds blow and like penguins we need to huddle for warmth. WTF am i talking about? the best way to keep warm in winter is fucking like crazy good for arthritis and other health related symptoms. 

statistically most babies are concieved at this time of year. heard on the hometown radio station. many work hard all year and need a little break, need a little raw sex 'indulgence'. I say 'indulgence' because unfortunately many see it this way. There are many doctors, who along with flu shots are urging covered intercourse at this time of year. The language is always vague and sinister but says the same thing: 'don't love free'. I categorically reject this. Christmas can be a gateway to spiritual raw sex, christmas can be an opening to something permanent and loving. I hope that there are many people shacked up and rocking around the 'christmas tree' naturally and completely unadorned with the latex prison. many have allergies to this also. 

Let yourself love, let yourself lust and make sure you know that sex is more than transaction - it is a door opening to divinity if you know how to do it right..
